I love reading the Community Calender in the Laurel Leader. You just never know about the great cheap things to do in your community till you check out the local paper.
In the past, I have posted about the activities at the Laurel Museum. On Saturday June 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Laurel Museum at 817 Main St., the Museum will be hosting a 1950s fun event. There will be hula hoops, egg toss and a pie eating contest for both kids and adults. These are only some of the 1950 themed events that will be taking place. For more details contact Lindsey Baker 301-725-7975 or www.laurelhistoricalsociety.org.
Another cheap fun event, bike decorating, will be held on Friday June 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Laurel Armory at 422 Montgomery St. in Laurel Maryland. This event will be hosted by Council Member Gayle Snyder. The decorating will be followed by a parade at 7:15 p.m. and an ice cream social right after the parade.
Laurel Maryland is such a fun place. Make sure you read the Laurel Leader and the Laurel Gazette for fun family activities right in your own back yard.
