Ann Arundel County Public Schools

Families love the Maryland real estate because of its excellent school system. Ten of the 78 schools of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools are winners of the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. The system has two charter schools: the Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School and the Monarch Academy, located in Glen Burnie. According to the school system’s website, 80 percent of the 2010 high school graduates went on to a two or four-year college.

As part of the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, the county is filled with attractions, shopping and events for everyone in the family and the attractions are convenient to most Maryland real estate. The Jug Bay Wetland Sanctuary, overseen by the Anne Arundel County Parks and Recreation Department, gives visitors an up close look at life in the wetlands, including amphibians native to the climate. The Arundel Mills Mall is an outlet mall with more than 200 great stores and restaurants.

For those who like sports and outdoor recreation, the county is known for its beautiful waterfronts on the Chesapeake Bay where you can take you can sail, swim or just lie on the beach and relax.
